In Memory of Lisa Mollen Thalhimer
With great sadness, the staff of Richmond Parents Monthly acknowledges
the passing of long-time and award-winning writer for our magazine, Lisa
Mollen Thalhimer.
She passed away on April 27th at the age of 55 following more than a
year-long battle with breast cancer. However, her warmth, creativity and
optimism will long be remembered by those who had the good fortune of
knowing and working with her.
Thalhimer began writing for Richmond Parents Monthly from the magazine’s
beginning, and was recognized with a number of awards by Parenting
Publications of America for her book reviews and other articles. She loved
children’s books and was both a talented writer and photographer.
Lisa requested that gifts in her memory be made to The Community Foundation, 7501 Boulders View Drive, Suite 110, Richmond, Va. 23225, for the Lisa M. Thalhimer Children’s Literacy Fund. The money will go to charitable organizations which support creative writing for children in grades 2-12.
